The Greeks loved reasoning. They looked for logical answers to nature's mysteries. A man named Pythagoras was fascinated by Geometry. Geometry comes from a Greek word that means "to measure land". Another man, who's name was Euclid, had a textbook of geometry and it became the basis for teaching geometry for more than 2,000 years.

Astronomy is basically studing the stars. Astronomy comes from a Greek word that means "Star". Aristachus, who was the first man to suggest that the world moves around the sun, not that it is the center of the planet.

geography...
The word geography comes froma Greek word meaning "Writing about the Earth". Ptolemy, and Herodotus were both ancient geographer maped and recorded a visual of the Earth. Ptolemy wrote a book, called Geographia. In the book, it listed over 8000 recorded locations around the world. Herodotus made the first map.
